Kitchen Cabinets - Anaheim CA

Your cabinets are, without question, the most pivotal design feature you will select when designing or upgrading your Newport Beach, CA kitchen cabinets. Why is this so important? For starters, the kitchen is the “Heart of the Home.” This statement may sound cliché, but it’s true. Your kitchen is the most visited, most necessary (rivaled only by the restroom), and most multi-purpose.

Unfortunately, many of our clients have come to us with “design remorse.” With all the options out there, no wonder people choose cabinets they regret! Over the years, our designers here at Kitchen Cabinets & Beyond have discovered three important categories every homeowner should mull over before selecting cabinets.

  1. Door Style
Instead of thumbing through a catalog and flagging 20 pages of “maybes,” come to our showroom and see which style you are drawn to. You may be surprised, as many Fullerton, CA, residents are. What you thought you wanted changes when you see it in person. Many previous clients, for example, believed they wanted shaker style cabinets, but were drawn to the modern simplicity of flat doors or the exposed hinges of inset cabinetry. It is worth comparing different options in person. Pictures never represent what you can truly expect.
  2. Color and Finish
Color and finish make more of a statement about your space than you may realize. You may believe you want white cabinets. They are very popular, and have been since the 1930s. But you might discover you are a rustic, natural wood lover at heart. For example, if you are an old soul, you will likely prefer cooking and entertaining in a kitchen with familiar elements and nostalgia; such as pine cabinet doors (like your grandmother had) or glaze finish (like your father loved). Think about memories you formed in a kitchen. What did the space look like? Begin there and choose a cabinet color and finish that provide a fresh version of a familiar, happy space.
  3. The Value is in the Accessories and Details
With our team at Kitchen Cabinets & Beyond, you are not married to cookie-cutter options. Within the different styles, customized options are available. Custom trim and molding, glass panels, in-cabinet lighting, exotic wood, built-in charging stations, hidden pull-out trash cans and other storage features, and unique knobs or pulls are yours to consider. Our team will guide you through necessary details to discern your storage space needs, among others. Do you require lower cabinetry with easy access or are you interested in filling your space from floor to ceiling? What details do you currently dislike in your kitchen cabinets?

If you can focus your energy on these three considerations, you are on track to choosing the perfect cabinets for your kitchen. Our goal at Kitchen Cabinets & Beyond is to steer you away from future “design remorse” and toward the right cabinets for your kitchen! You deserve the right kitchen the first time around.

I like that you talked about how you can choose a color of cabinets that makes you feel happy. I have been remodeling my kitchen, and don’t know what cabinets to choose. I can see how it would be nice to choose a black color because that’s what I had growing up.

Thanks for explaining some things to keep in mind when getting kitchen cabinets. I didn’t know that it could be good to know what finish you want for the cabinets, since it can help provide a fresh version of the cabinets. I’m interested to learn if some finishes can only be used on some materials, in case some are more compatible than others.

My wife and I want to install new kitchen cabinets when we remodel next year, so thanks for sharing this. I like your point about choosing a cabinet color and finish that gives the room a familiar and happy feel. I’ll be sure to do carefully choose the colors we want to use so the room feels consistent.
